The CyberChallenge.it gathers young IT talents in Turin
A competition for young cybersecurity talents: training, challenge and opportunity to join the cyberdefender national team
From 28 June to 1 July, Turin will become the nerve center of Italian IT security, hosting the 258 finalists of the CyberChallenge.it. This program, now in its seventh edition, represents a point of reference for the training of young talents in the field. Over the past year, the program has involved 860 young people aged between 16 and 24 from various institutions throughout Italy.
Organization and sponsor of the event
The Cybersecurity National Lab of CINI (National Interuniversity Consortium for Information Technology) had the merit of organizing this initiative, supported by the patronage of the Acn, the National Cybersecurity Agency, and by the Guarantor Authority for the Protection of Personal Data . The event will take place at the Turin campus of the ILO (International Labor Organization), where the finalist "ethical hackers" will have the opportunity to showcase their skills.
The competition and the national team
Participants will be divided into teams representing the 43 locations that participated in the program, including 40 universities, the Tuscan Cybersecurity Competence Center, the Turin Army Training and Application School Command and the Pozzuoli Air Force Academy. In the competition, they will be asked to demonstrate their mastery in various fields such as cryptography, network security and hardware and software infrastructures. The best ones could be selected to join TeamItaly, the National Cyberdefender Team, which participates in the European Cybersecurity Challenge (Ecsc) every year, which will be held next October in Hamar, Norway.
Presentations and connections with "The Big Game"
The second day of the event, June 30, will see the top eight teams deliver their information security presentations. They will be heard by a jury made up of institutional representatives, communication experts and representatives of leading companies in the sector, such as Area, Bip, BV Tech Group, Capgemini, Cisco, Cybertech, IPS, Leonardo, Pirelli, Telsy, Zte. The CyberChallenge.IT event is part of a larger education and training program called "The Big Game", which also includes OliCyber, CyberTrials and CyberHighSchools, all under the auspices of the Cybersecurity National Lab.
