How to defend yourself against online scams and protect our privacy

Nunzia Ciardi is the deputy director of the National Cybersecurity Agency, the body responsible for preventing and countering the cyber attacks that threaten our country. He will participate in the Parole_Ostili festival in Trieste, where he will talk about how to be aware of the risks and opportunities of the digital revolution.

Ciardi explains that the first step in defending yourself from online scams is not to click where they invite you to do so, but always check the source and truthfulness of the messages we receive. This applies to everyone, not just the elderly, because we are all vulnerable online.

The deputy director also tells us what the tasks of the National Cybersecurity Agency are, which is responsible for monitoring the cyber threat, collaborating with other countries, stimulating the growth of professionalism in the sector and promoting Italy's technological autonomy.

The expert also warns us about the dangers for our privacy: the network does not forget and our data can be used against us or fall into the wrong hands. For this we must be careful about what we share online and what permissions we give to the applications we use.
