A recent study commissioned by Kaspersky highlighted growing interest in outsourcing cybersecurity functions. The survey involved IT professionals from companies of various sizes, highlighting how 40% of companies are oriented towards collaboration with external specialists to strengthen their security. The results indicate that 23% of companies involved consider the option of entrusting cybersecurity management to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) or Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), especially in sectors such as energy and critical infrastructure.

The reasons behind outsourcing digital security

Research revealed that cybersecurity incidents affect 77% of businesses, with 75% of these cases classified as serious. One of the main recognized reasons for these breaches is a lack of adequate resources, including both in-house specialist expertise and suitable tools, each cited by 18% of respondents. The choice to use external managed security services is seen as a strategic step to fill these gaps.

Future investments in automation and training

The trend to invest in advanced technological solutions, such as automation, is growing. Almost half of companies (45%) plan to introduce software systems capable of automatically managing security issues in the next year. These tools offer the ability to significantly automate security processes, powered by artificial intelligence solutions offered by vendors such as Kaspersky.

Practical tips for safety planning

In order to strengthen internal IT security, Kaspersky suggests using managed security services and specialized training. Systems such as Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response offer constant surveillance and improve operational practices, while the AI assistant in Managed Detection and Response can automatically handle half of the total security alerts, ensuring high protection. Finally, for SMEs with limited resources, Kaspersky offers solutions such as Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud, which can also be effectively managed by a part-time or external IT administrator, thanks to a platform that integrates numerous automated scripts.
